TrakPower are at the forefront of LiPo cells development and technology, being the manufacturer is a major factor in the success of their LiPo cell technology.
The TP4900, the TP3200 and the TP4800 saddle pack packs all have been submitted to the BRCA for approval and inclusion on the new coming LiPo pack list.
- Factory Matched Lithium Polymer for RC Motor Sport
- 268g 40% less than most NiMH packs
- 23mm x 46mm x 138mm
- 4900 mAh more capacity than the leading NiMH
- 7.4V Nominal, 8.4V fully charged
- TYPICAL IR At terminals: <4.7 mOhm
- 25C 122.5 Amp continuous, 30C 150 Amp max acceleration 50
Amp nearly 250 Amp spikes
- Standard charge rate 5 Amp (1C)
- Fast charge rate 10 Amp (Max 2.5C with balancing charger)
- Max discharge - never below 6.0V - 6.2V Recommended /
NEVER limp home/dump as this will damage the cells.
- Connectors (built in) 2mm x 4mm bullet females, gold plated
- Centre tap for balancing: 2mm bullet female, gold plated
- Cycle life estimate: Raceworthy: 100 cycles, Practice/Mixed: 200 Cycles+ (if ratings observed and followed)
Cycle life estimates are halved if fast charging always deployed: recommend a mix of standard and fast charging as the need/opportunity arises.
Warranty: In the absence of abuse is 3 months.
WARNING: TrakPower Lithium Polymer has a far greater energy potential than traditional battery technologies used in RC. Treat Lithium Polymer battery technology as FLAMMABLE SOLID FUEL. ALWAYS use a LiPo charger set to 2-Cell / 7.4V LiPo for this 2s1p pack. NiCd/NiMH "delta peak" chargers are COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE for LiPo technology and WILL cause a fire. Failure to observe maximum and minimum ratings and the warnings stated here and on the reverse of each pack will achieve NO PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGE, will VOID WARRANTY, and
will lead to UNSAFE OPERATING CONDITIONS. Practices such as pre-race Peaking and Zapping are
totally unnecessary and must be strictly prohibited for LiPo Technology owing to their immediate danger in the context of LiPo chemistry.
Tip: The only performance enhancing practices recommended and authorized by TrakPower are as follows: Pre-race warming to 30-40 degrees Centigrade. Cell balancing (the practice of ensuring that each cell in the pack is balanced to identical charge voltage).
While balancing is always good practice with LiPo Technology, in the absence of very cold temperatures 10 degrees C and below, most users will observe that warming is unnecessary because the pack will always be able to deliver more power than any other component in the drive train can draw from it.
When delivered, your packs will
be partially charged and are immediately good to go. There is no
requirement or advantage to be gained by doing anything to these cells
other than just charging them. Never discharge a LiPo, there is no situation
that a normal user would ever need to do this, and again there is no
benefit to be gained in doing it. All you need to do is charge and race, charge
and race, charge and race...and if you have a balancer, use it......... it is as
simple as that!
